All of the first graders here at Baker School learned the #GimmeFive dance as part of the Let's Move Initiative to help promote good health in children. Inspired by First Lady, Michelle Obama, and talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, we learned the steps and kept on "moving"! We hope you enjoy our efforts!!
First graders began a new chapter in math this week all about geometry. So far they have practiced distinguishing the difference between differing attributes and building and drawing figures that posses defining attributes.
This week 1-B students completed a multi-step graphing project in math:
First, each student created a question, with four possible answers, to ask their classmates and teachers.
Next, the students collected their data by asking each student and teacher their question and tallying the responses.
Last, the students used a computer program called Graph Club to graph their data. Their work is hanging up outside our classroom!
First graders will be learning the Gimme Five! dance that Michelle Obama performed on the Ellen DeGeneres show recently. Click below to get a sneak peek!
